Description
Welcome to Collingwood House. Forget all the troubles of city life, breathe in deep and smell the fresh air. The moment you drive in, you will begin to relax. That’s what your time here is all about.
This has to be probably the most stylish, elegant, luxurious self-catering holiday home less than two hours from London. Sleeping eight in four bedrooms with three bathrooms, it is an ideal rural retreat for a family get together, a group of friends just wanting to chill for the weekend, or a special celebration…
Relax, for we have provided every thoughtful detail to make your stay in this most beautiful of Cotswolds villages a delight from start to finish. From the moment you walk in, we will welcome you with a luxury hamper; wines, local cheese, milk fresh from the local farm, home made bread and cake, and home made marmalade. So if you get down here late, don’t worry. There’s plenty to keep you going. Have a glass of wine: you will very, very soon begin to relax…
You will tread lightly on the planet here: we have installed a Ground Source Heat Pump: four boreholes each over 100 metres deep! In addition, we have our own water borehole. No need to buy spring water! Electricity is from renewables.
We have a local chef who will come in and cater for your dinner party with mouth watering delicacies which you only have to sit down and enjoy.
For families, the Family Suite can sleep two grown ups in the king size bed, and two children, on the day bed, which has two full size (3 foot) mattresses, one tucked under the other. If you don't need it, it's a sofa!
For those who prefer a more active lifestyle, this area of the Cotswolds, all part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a walkers’ paradise. Head out of the garden to untold miles and miles of walks. If wildlife is your thing, look no further than through the Breakfast Room window: blackbirds, mistle thrush, woodpeckers, and as it gets dark, listen out for the owls.

Nearby
Situated in the village of Chedworth and near the famous Chedworth Roman Villa, Collingwood House has undergone complete refurbishment to take it as off grid as possible. Ground source heat pumps and our own water give us a sense of protecting the planet. The views from the house are beautiful. The rolling hills of the Cotswolds are before you: facing south the house benefits from all day sun. Come down to the kitchen first thing to see the sun streaming in, and by the evening the sun is setting the the west on what we call the Gin and Tonic Terrace. This is a countryside rural retreat.
The house is ideal for family special occasions, and for wedding accommodation: it is particularly suited for the bride or groom's family. Or just to chill out with a group of friends. It has it all.

Blackberry picking, sloe picking, foraging are right outside!
At the Cotswold Water Park you will find canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, jet skiing, there is a beach and innumerable outdoor activities.
Cirencester has its own theatre, a famous Museum which houses the renowned Roman Hare Mosaic, found in a field nearby. The Roman Villa is walking distance from the house.
There are many really good local pubs, and The Pig in the Cotswolds is a recent addition.
